The Luxe Sac – Unisex tote backpack. PDF sewing pattern & video tutorial

A moderately easy sewing pattern which comes with a full YouTube video tutorial

See the Luxe Sac introduction on YouTube here:

And watch the full sewalong here:

The Luxe Sac converts from a tote to a backpack in just one tug, it’s stylish and strong

The drawstring backpack is a real fashion item at the moment – I’ve turned it into a real quality item that can be used every day, it’s substantial, fully lined and has tote handles so it can be used in two different ways.

Carry as a tote for a great look for the office or mall or pull on the ropes to close up and use as a really handy backpack for the gym or your commute home

The outside has a roomy zipped compartment large enough for all your essentials

Inside is a large zipped pocket for your valuables

Buy snazzy braided ropes or marine cord economically from Ebay or your local DIY stores. They really do set off the bag nicely and are available in a huge amount of colour mixes.

Make in any Medium to heavy weight fabric of your choice – You can use canvas, furnishing fabrics, vinyl, tweed, cordura, cork, oilskin or denims too.

Mix and match your fabrics or just make in a solid colour for a sophisticated look.

It’s a great bag for men too – make in oilskin for a beautiful rugged look

The pattern has pages full of colour photos and hints and tips for every step of make-up along with a full length sewalong video to explain everything in great detail so you can produce a really professional looking bag

Approx finished measurements: 41 x 36 cm (16 x 14”)

An easy pattern to follow; I watched the YouTube instructional video and was so impressed that I just has to buy the pattern!

  2. Sharon Eacott

    I love this pattern!
It’s super straightforward and leaves you with a bag that looks super business-like or casual, depending on the fabrics you choose.
The written instructions are very clear and easily followed with a video as a super friendly add-on.
I’ve made six of these so far and see many more in my future.
