Brilliant for packing all your clothes, underwear, toiletries and electronics into your suitcase, keeping everything organised and tightly stored to increase capacity in your case and prevent your clothes moving around and creasing. Also great for everyday storage in the home.
The Pods are seriously lightweight and roll up to nothing, adding no weight to your weekend bag or suitcase.
They come in three sizes, a joy to make – no interfacing, no lining, and no binding, but I show you an ingenious way to neaten and strengthen your seams so it looks as beautiful inside as out. Flatten them down, roll them up and pack them away after use in a tiny space, or if you make in more robust fabrics like oilskin and vinyl, they will pack inside each other
Use them for storing anything, roll up your clothes and pack them in, socks, underwear, dresses and shirts, make one for toiletries, and one for your electronics and chargers.
Choose a light fabric that will pack easily. Rip stop or water resistant nylon linings are a good choice, but you could also use quilting cottons to make in a pretty print to match your suitcase.
Make enough to fill your whole case; it’s amazing how much gear you can pack in these. They are great for organisation; make them in different colours to distinguish between the different contents. You can even use mesh for the top panel so you can see the contents.
You can make from more substantial fabrics like canvas and dry oilskin, even vinyl and cork, which make much sturdier pods, all work beautifully. They are really handy made in waterproof fabric for mucky camping trips.
The pattern and video explain everything in detail, it’s an easy make, so why don’t you give them a go, and you’ll wonder how you ever packed without them
It’s such a fun quick make. Once you have made one, you won’t be able to stop.

Oh my word, this is just the most amazing pattern ever! I had never heard of packing pods prior to this & now I am wondering how I ever managed without them! The concept of having a video tutorial to accompany the pattern is a boon to all of us visual learners, as well as helping me to understand the intricacies of a beautiful neat corner, , seeing & hearing you too meant it was like settling down for a fun afternoon with a friend.
I would give this one 5🌟 and recommend it to everyone who loves to sew.

I’ve just made one pod so far, and it worked perfectly I was so impressed with myself for getting it right the first time – all due to the clear instructions and quality methods involved. When I make a new pattern I expect to get it about right by the third make, I write notes of what I did right and wrong so I can improve next time, but no! I just kept following and sewing and before I knew it the pod was finished …. and it is beautiful!
Thank you, your patterns are brilliant.

Originally I thought this would make a nice set for me when I travel. I certainly underestimated these packing pods. At this point I have made 13 sets for Christmas gifts. And then I made a couple more of the large size for storage. And more to come! They are wonderful. I love the fact they weigh next to nothing but are sturdy and hold a lot more than they look like they should. The pattern is very well written and very easy to follow. I high recommend this pattern.
