You will need:

You will need

  • Outer Fabric – 50 x 50cm (20 x 20”) – Light to medium weight fabrics including quilt cotton, waterproof canvas, oilskin, canvas, denim.
  • Lining – 0.5 m (½ yard) – Any lightweight fabric such as quilt weight cottons.
  • Fusible Interfacing – 0.5 m (½ yard) – Medium weight fusible interfacing (MWFI) such as Vilene F220, G700, Pellon SF101. Interfacing not required for pieces cut in waterproof canvas or oilskin.
  • 1 x Twist Lock or 18mm (¾“) Magnetic Clasp – For main closure.
  • Webbing (Strap) – 165cm (65”) length of 19mm (¾”) wide webbing – For the strap. Nylon seatbelt webbing is ideal or cotton webbing.
  • 1 each 19mm (¾”) Rectangle Ring and Triglide. (Rectangle ring not required if making detachable strap option.)
  • Ultra-firm Fusible Stabiliser – 18 x 18cm (7 x 7”) – Decovil Heavy or Pellon 71F.
  • All Purpose Thread to match outer.

Optional items

  • Fleece – 50 x 20cm (20 x 8”) scrap of low loft fusible fleecesuch as Vlieseline/Vilene X50 or H630 or Pellon #987F for quilting option.
  • 2 x 13mm (½“) D-rings and 2 x 19mm (¾“) Swivel Clasps – Optional for making strap detachable.
  • Optional – Handmade tag or logo badge.
  • Optional – Double sided tape (washaway/gum free).
