A quick and easy free pattern for a beautiful boxy cosmetic pouch. Unlined and with no interfacings making it a really easy quick sew. Great for gifts
What you will need:
Outer fabric, small piece 35 x 30 cm (13 x 11″) : Use a nice heavyweight firm fabric that doesn’t fray such as cordura, vinyl, cork, oilskin, or oilcloth
12” nylon zip or longer
Just print out the pattern pieces and tape together as instructed. Prints onto A4 or US letter size paper. Cut out your fabric and follow the YouTube sewalong.
YOU WILL NEED ADOBE ACROBAT TO OPEN THE FILE. You probably already have it, but if not, you can download for free at http://get.adobe.com/reader/
NB – The pattern is based on using a regular 1″ wide zip (including zip tape). If you are using a wider zip, take a slightly wider seam allowance at the zip edge to compensate, so your corner notches will still match up.

Hi
I am having trouble with the scale aspect of the pattern as the scale does not measure up on the drawing you have provided (I am using A4 paper)
Is there another drawing available? I am a novice so I am unfamiliar with the process of enlarging the scale.
Thank you kindly for your help.

While searching YouTube I first found the volunteer bag tutorial. Loved it and am planning on sewing several (mostly as gifts for my young girls and nieces). Also wanting to make several of these as well for my girls to use for their art supplies and the like to help organize their rooms (I hope).

I am struggling with printing this pattern. Others have printed perfectly, but this one seems to be shifter to the right on my paper so some of it is cut off right at your logo. suggestioons?

Hello Diane, what a lovely pattern. Thank you! How would this work with directional patterned fabric? Where would the best place be on the pattern to make the join? Thank you again
DIANEJanuary 1, 2023
Join your fabric at the bottom notches if using directional fabric so the seam will sit on the base when complete xx

a go later today! Have the perfect oilcloth fabric! Thank you again! Ps Happy New Year x
